Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate psychotherapist to join our team and provide professional mental health services to individuals, couples, families, and groups. You will work closely with a diverse client including children, adolescents, and older adults, in a clinical setting. As a psychotherapist, you will utilize your expertise in psychological theory, counseling techniques, and therapeutic interventions to help clients navigate through various emotional, behavioral, and psychological challenges. Your primary goal will be to promote mental well-being, facilitate personal growth, and enhance overall quality of life for your clients.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial assessments and comprehensive evaluations of clients’ mental health concerns, taking into account their personal history, symptoms, and specific goals.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on clients’ unique needs, utilizing evidence-based psychotherapy techniques and modalities.
  • Provide individual, couples, family, and group therapy sessions to address clients’ emotional, behavioral, and relationship issues.
  • Create a safe and non-judgmental therapeutic environment that encourages trust, openness, and effective communication.
  • Employ a variety of therapeutic approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions, tailoring the treatment to meet clients’ specific needs.
  • Assist clients in developing coping strategies, problem-solving skills, and positive behavior changes to promote emotional well-being and improve their daily functioning.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers, to coordinate care and ensure holistic treatment for clients.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records, progress notes, and treatment plans in accordance with professional and legal standards.
  • Educate clients, families, and caregivers about mental health conditions, treatment options, and strategies for coping and managing symptoms.
  • Stay updated on the latest research, therapeutic techniques, and ethical guidelines in the field of psychotherapy through continuous professional development and training.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to clients in acute distress, assessing risk and implementing appropriate interventions to ensure their safety.
  • Educate clients and their families about mental health issues, including diagnosis, treatment options, and available community resources.
  • Adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards of conduct established by relevant regulatory bodies and licensing boards.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or doctoral degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Possess a valid and active license as a Clinical Psychologist in Maryland and the state where services will be provided.
  • Possess a valid license or certification as a psychotherapist or counselor, in Maryland and the state where will be provided.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing psychotherapy services to individuals across diverse populations and presenting issues.
  • In-depth knowledge of various therapeutic modalities and interventions, with the ability to integrate multiple approaches to meet clients’ needs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to establish rapport and build effective therapeutic relationships.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong ethical grounding and adherence to professional standards of practice.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems and proficiency in maintaining accurate and confidential client documentation.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of advancements in the field of psychotherapy.
  • Minimum of 15 session hour per week
  • Paneled with BCBS, Cigna, and TriCare (East) Select. If you are not paneled with any of these insurance companies, we will help you with the credentialling process (can take 90 to 120 days).
  • Attend bimonthly staff/peer consultation meetings (optional).

Location

Due to Covid-19, all psychotherapy services are offered exclusively through a telehealth platform. Our therapists have the option to work remotely.

Schedule

Flexible Schedule: Monday to Friday and weekends
