Dr. Hoang is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Maryland. She earned her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) and Master of Arts (M.A.) in Clinical Psychology as well as Master of Arts (M.A.) in Community Counseling at the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, at Arlington, VA. She completed her predoctoral internship at Howard University in Washington, D.C. offering individual and group therapy in addition to psychological evaluations. Multicultural and diversity factors are of primary importance and Dr. Hoang is experienced in performing immigration evaluations. Having served in private practice and community-based organization for over 10 years, Dr. Hoang has versatile experience working within the context of emotional distress and behavioral difficulties. These may include depression, anxiety, anger management, ADHD, and overall life stress as well as a specialized focus on trauma.
Dr. Hoang integrates a variety of therapeutic approaches including psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral therapy, and client center therapy to understand your needs and will plan a treatment that is specific to you as an individual. She takes genuine interest and consideration in how cultural and diverse dynamics, such as gender, sexual orientation, immigration and intergenerational conflict, impact the worldview of the individual. She will work with you to promote positive changes and help you to attain new perspectives in dealing with your challenges.
