Mr. Banks possesses a Master’s in Social Work from Howard University and is licensed in Maryland and Washington, DC as a Clinical Social Worker. He has more than 23 years of experience providing mental health services to children, adults and families in Washington DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia. Mr. Banks has worked in a variety of settings including schools, psychiatric hospitals, community-based outpatient mental health clinics and residential treatment facilities.

Incorporating a multi-cultural and diversity-focused orientation, Mr. Banks utilizes cognitive-behavioral therapy with a strengths-based, solution-focused approach to engage clients in addressing life challenges. Mr. Banks has an extensive background treating a variety of conditions but primarily focuses on issues related to trauma, PTSD, mood disorders, ADHD and grief.

Mr. Banks provides a welcoming, safe and supportive environment in which his clients can explore challenges and issues they face. His goal is to develop a therapeutic partnership with his clients allowing them to identify and explore strengths and resources to bring about desired changes. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family, exercising and watching his favorite sports teams.
